Calgary downtown was chosen by my clients for their family session/portrait photoshoot. They wanted something stylish and fashion looking. I liked this idea for a change. But I still prefer isolated places to avoid crowd. For my clients who don’t have modelling experience, extra attention may cause feeling shy and tense.
So, Calgary backstreets are so rustic and old but the location worked extremely well for this family of three! At first my models couldn’t get an idea on how this rusty environment can give such an amazing texture and backgrounds. I assured them about making a good choice.
Clients worry every time about lots of sessions moments. My work is to explain the process and make my families comfortable about photography experience with me. The camera is so sensitive to any mood the person is having in front of it. My goal is to make this process as comfortable as possible!
Posing, listening to any ideas, explaining – those are all instruments I’m using while working with people who have zero photographic experience. We carefully plan locations, outfits, even props if necessary. I have a lot of vintage exclusive things to work with kids. It’s not the case as this young man is a big person already. So, this Calgary downtown portrait and family session turned out good. Both my clients and I were extremely happy about these pictures. Most of my families come back every year. Can I be more grateful and happy as the photographer if I have the rare opportunity to follow my client’s family histories?… That’s how I know I’m doing a good work!
Just take a look!
